About this role
The Lead of Land Rights will lead our efforts to strengthen the Sahariya communities’ access to secure land tenure and justice within land governance systems. The role combines direct legal engagement with broader institutional learning, ensuring that urgent land cases are addressed while also developing a deeper understanding of systemic failures in land governance.

Remuneration
The compensation for this position will be in the range of INR 40,000-45,000 per month commensurate with competencies and experiences. We will reimburse costs incurred for work-related travel.

Qualifications and competencies
Demonstrated commitment to working with disadvantaged groups or communities.
An undergraduate degree in law is necessary.
4-5 years of experience in conducting research, policy analysis, and/ or advocacy in the rights-based or development sector.
Strong understanding of land governance systems, particularly revenue land processes, land dispute mechanisms, and the administrative institutions responsible for land records and adjudication, is a must.
Prior experience in a supervisory role is necessary.
Prior experience in liaisoning with partner organisations as well as with donor organisations is preferred.
Prior work experience with and/ or knowledge of challenges faced by PVTGs or disadvantaged communities in land-related issues is preferred
Outstanding written and oral communication skills are essential. Must be proficient in both English and Hindi.
