In MP, 88% migrant workers still wait for promised govt aid
A report based on a survey of roughly 3,000 migrant workers across Madhya Pradesh found that 88.5% had not received the ₹1,000 relief announced by the State during the COVID-19 lockdown. Only a small minority reported receiving the promised assistance.
The research was produced by the Madhya Pradesh Migrant Volunteer Team with Zenith. It documented gaps between announced schemes and delivery, alongside continuing job and wage insecurity among workers who had returned home.
