Aditi Vajpayi

Senior Researcher

Forest rights

Aditi helps Sehr understand the Sahariya context of forest rights and turn field information into legal and advocacy strategies. She guides documentation, trains team members and connects local concerns with state and national conversations on Adivasi rights.

Her work is grounded in development studies and long engagement with people’s organisations and forest-rights movements across India. As a member of the Campaign for Survival and Dignity, she brings movement history and a wider understanding of conservation regimes to the questions emerging from the ground.

Aditi lives simply in a village in Himachal, close to her dog Dosti and neighbourhood children. Her Ambedkarite perspective, village life and sharp political inquiry shape how she listens, teaches and helps colleagues place individual cases within larger structures of power.
